Hello

A few hours ago I got a line on the eighth and side of my screen, about 2 or 3 inches in. It's one pixel wide and purple.

I've tried PRam and SMC resets in blind hope and am currently running AHT (long version as the short one did not find any probs)

Has a anyone experiences anything similar? Does anyone have a fix? Or am I looking down the £400 barrels of a screen replacement
Or...
Is it something worse like a CPU/GPU failure?

Thanks in advance

Try an external monitor. If it works then it is not a GPU issue. It still looks like a hardware issue.

It could be that the wiring to the screen is broken, since it happens the length of the screen. Is there damage to the screen/metal? Does the line show up when you boot up and see the apple logo? How about different colours of background? (red/green/blue/black)

Either way, an apple store will give you a quote.
