I'm in a bit of a sticky situation and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm was working on a really important piece of production for a major label last night and just turned on my Mac Pro to carry on working on it. When I load up the song the Mac all of a sudden Kernel Panics. It doesn't do it on any other song apart from the automatically created backup of that song. It's very unusual and very very annoying. This is made even more annoying by the fact that it takes around 15 minutes to load the song!! Yes, 15 Minutes!!! Only when the computer has stopped faffing around and the arrange page appears do I get the spinning beach ball of death and it Kernel panics. Why would it suddenly start doing this? I have done the obvious of repairing permissions diconnecting external devices ect...

In the Console Panic log it says this:

Sun Oct 1 14:39:32 2006
panic(cpu 0 caller 0x00670CD0): Uncorrectable Fbd memory error detected. ferr = 20000020 , nerr == 00000020

(FBD would be fully-buffered DIMM). That would be a hardware fault. You can try reseating the memory, or if you have any third-party RAM you may want to try popping it out to see if the problem goes away, or you may want to give Apple a holler if it is all their hardware.

I'd say it's coincidence that the same file tickles the error, it's probably just large enough to do it.
