Hey guys, just curious, do you think the current 12" Powerbook could adequately power a 20" Cinema Display for gaming? Not Doom 3 or anything, games like WoW and Call of Duty.

I am thinking not very well, since you would have to choose a low resolution for decent FPS, which kind of defeats the purpose of the display. But I wanted to check.

My almost maxed out 20" iMac G5 struggled to stay above 20fps at native resolution, and I imagine it would be even worse with the FX5200 Go instead of Ultra.

When I dropped the resolution to 1280x854 (I think that was it) it ran at 35+ fps outside, but was really too blurry to use.

Edit: this was with all settings on their lowest, including some you can only set by editing the config file.

Thanks for the feedback... how much RAM does your iMac have?

    Not a chance mate, tbh.

I used a Powerbook G4 12in and 20in cinema display before I sold the Powerbook, and expose was choppy, let alone games.
