My computer (in the subject) was dropped and damaged the dc-in board. I had the dc-in board replaced, but shortly after that, my battery indicator only shows an "X" and says "calculating" or "no batteries available". I am running 10.3, so I cannot use coconut. Is this a battery issue, or a dc-dc board problem? Any help would be appreciated. I do not have easy access to another battery to check to see if that would work.

You should test with a known good battery. If I had to guess, though, it's probably a board problem.

Have you been waiting for this answer on pins and needles?!
