Hi there,

The Hardware:
I just bought a Sony monitor to mirror off of my 12" powerbook 1.5GHz.
The Powerbook's top resolution is 1024x768 & the monitor's is 1280x1024.

The Problem:
When I mirror at anything higher than the 1024x768 that the Powerbook has to offer, the external monitor only uses up part of the screen.
I've looked for a driver from Sony, the model is SDM-S71, but have had no luck.

Has anyone had any similar problems, or know of any possible solutions?

Thanks. :)

You can't mirror at anything above native. If you found a way to do that, it wouldn't be mirroring -- it'd be some kind of crazy mirror n' scroll thing, like the nVidia PC cards have on by default.

For higher resolution externally, you need to span. There's no other way.

mirroring

unless there is a funhouse mirror setting on the powerbooks i dont know about, MIRRORING means the same resolution on both screens, so that means 1024x768 on both, now if you are spanning that is a different story...

I have the same setup, uncheck mirroring, and just use the sony as a primary monitor and run the pb in a lower res.
