I'd be willing to bet the iPhone and iPad are just showing the free sample from iBookstore.

A sea of green
And here I thought there'd be a list,
Of ways to read it, just like this:

You can read it with a fox,
While wearing socks found in a box.

Or you can read it with a goat,
While traveling on a ferry boat.

Or have it read to you by Sam,
While serving you green eggs and ham.

Oh dear me!

The Kindle hate is really rather sad, reading a book on an iPad compared to a Kindle just doesn't compare, and I have both.

I know it's MacRumors, but the reality is reading a book (not a magazine) is far better on the Kindle.

The iPad excels at magazines and more interactive content, but for linear reading, the Kindle wins hands down.

Kindle is a better format to purchase stuff on that iBooks as I can read it on my non Apple devices in addition to Apple devices.

I may be the only person here who prefers ebook over printed version. I don't have lots of free time and carrying a 656-page book that weighs nearly 2 lbs won't work for me.

Totally agree with nutmac here, I love books, I've got hundreds, but since getting my Kindle, the convenience (woke up with the biography next to me) and the ability to carry all my books on the plane when on hols, far outweighs my nostalgic desire for a physical book.

My only bugbear with Kindle is they throw you in at the deep end, I prefer to read from the cover, so have to go back several pages, and in this case is worth doing so for the foreword from the author.

I get so tired from these Jobs Biography-related news articles. I'll probably be the only person who is not going to read it.

I bought the hard cover version just because it's a book I really want to read and IMO nothing beats the feel of a real book. I would purchase it on kindle/iBooks but my morals won't let me pay for the same thing twice!

I know they won't cause it's extra money for them but amazon would be in a prime position with the kindle to do bundle offers similar to Disney triple play sets where you get a Bluray, DVD and digital download. If amazon were to launch a service like this where you buy the print copy and get a kindle copy free or a heavily discounted then I guarantee all my books would be bought from them!
