OK, am I the only one that is pissed off by this rule? Now it won't let me use a sig that Pages and Word says is 147 characters?

    What gives?

    Here it is:

When I'm taken home and you're still here
Just clear your mind dry your tears
We'll take our voices with our hands
Make like knives we'll make demands

Enters count as characters in vB

i just tested this for a second as a signature and it worked

"When I'm taken home and you're still here
Just clear your mind dry your tears
We'll take our voices with our handsMake like knives we'll make demands"

So maybe take out one of the apostrophes?

Does that take into account CR and LF characters? Or is it still well below the limit even with those characters?

If you think something is in error, PM a Mod, they may be able to shed some light on it for you...

Ask yourself this. Just exactly who would want to read all of those or any 147 characters anyway?

FYI: As I mentioned here, linebreaks count as 2 characters.

When your posts are shorter than your signatures, then it speaks volumes about what you see a community as. Less is more.

How about all of the vowels? That would cut it without losing critical punctuation marks. :p

I write some of the longest posts here. What are you talking about? :p

It's all good, I found a better one.

Let me rephrase in the general then, which is what I meant.

When one's posts are shorter than one's signatures...

What happened to the day when a signature was an actual signature and not a paragraph that takes up too much space?

Yeah, I agree. I used to have an obnoxious signature - but then I realized it's stupid to put every damn spec of your machine down there, so I cut mine down to just a quote.
