problem opening sound preferences???

system preferences crashes when i hit sound, and also when i hit mouse a keyboard pref... this is a real problem for me, (problem opening sound preferences).
ive been huntin for over a week now a cant seen to find a solution???
i also a sent a report to apple. i would be very greatful if any1 could shed som light!!!!! please

Well, repair permissions from Disk Utility for a start and then maybe try moving a file named com.apple.systempreferences.plist and another called com.apple.systempreferences.XXXXX.plist where the Xs are numbers to the desktop or somewhere accessible. Restart and see if that helps. If it doesn't move those files back to where you found them and restart again.
