2011 iMac with Lion, Video Hardware or Software Issue?

    Hello all I have a 2011 27" iMac 3.4Ghz i7 with 4GB Ram, 2GB Video Card.

    With the latest OSX Lion 10.7.1 and have some weird graphic glitch occur for the first time today.

    I will attach images of glitch below.

    Hardware Issue or Software Issue?

    It's not hardware. I have (2) 2011 27" iMacs, same as your specs, with the same issue when playing HD videos on 10.7.1. There are many people who own the 2011 iMacs on 10.7.1 with the same issue. I have a case with Apple and they still haven't figured it out.

    I just installed Microsoft Silverlight if that has anything to do with it?

    I don't have flash or silverlight installed. I get it from watching HD videos from trailers.apple.com on Quicktime.

    Reset works, but I just open up terminal and type "sudo killall -HUP WindowServer".

    Thanks dude, not sure what I was doing that brought the glitch on.....I wasn't watching HD movies, but I was on the Netflix website.

    For me it happens anytime I watch 720p or higher on Youtube using Google Chrome, Quicktime or iTunes.
