28 days later had to be the absolute worst movie I have ever seen in my entire existance. Usually I am the one in a group who will like most movies (even bad ones) but this movie was soooo friggin terrible. I wish I could have the time of my life I lost watching that piece of garbage back.

I thought it was a good movie, but the alternate ending was kinda weak. There were so many posibilities open to the director. They really should have done something a little more impressive.

Seeing London empty was worth the price of admission alone.

I thought it was an average movie, nothing special. Nice idea behind it, but I thought it wasn't executed as well as it could have been.

The alternate endings were kind of lame. My fiance' absolutely hated the ending.

Of course its your own opionion, but I thought it was just known that everyone hated this movie. All I have heard is bad reviews. Even when I saw it in theatres a while back everyone left the movie saying it was stupid and the worst movie ever.. etc. This is the first i've heard of people liking it. I mean, what do you all like about it?

i just thought it was cool, interesting concept, i like the film they used, i thought the people were scary looking as s***. plus i like danny boyle movies, especially the beach, which he directed and alex garland wrote the book, same for 28 days later. plus seeing london like that was amazing. movie was pretty incredible for being on a 7 mil budget. I just wish the dvd had more special features.

Funny, all I remember was good reviews. Everyone I knew who saw it , liked it. And it is very exciting to know that it was shot on digital cameras that most of us on the forums can afford.

By your blanket statements, I would say you are just trolling and trying to get a rise out of people. If your not, check imdb.com and search for the movie. It gets a 7.3 out of 10 user reviews (and imdb ratings are usually pretty rough) and then read some external reviews. You will see that it is not universally panned.

I plan on buying the dvd this weekend. So let me know how it is Shadowfax. I trust your Opinion over some others here.

    What is the alternate ending??

I saw the film at Sundance, where it premiered

I found the first 35 mins to be fascinating!

the rest was horrid! --- I really didn't enjoy how the plot line twisted into the whole military camp, full of rapists (altough, I guess the symbolism was that you didn't have to be infected in order to act infected)

however --- I kinda wish they had just focused upon the zombies, instead of take it to another dimension

however --- danny boyle is well known for that --- different strokes for different folks

most of the movies though are first released here in the states, then in uk. 28 days later was a pleasant break of that rule.

i do buy some movies that aren' released in the us, or that never will or who knows if they ever will. like some kaurismäki stuff, and now ... central station, and city of god. those are great, and at least city of god isn't out yet here. and then the bollywood stuff is a lot eaiser to get in uk ... not that i'd love particularly the bollywood stuff, but i couldn't resist to get at least a few indian movies.

I really didn't care for the movie either. I thought the plot was just too uninteresting and the zombies weren't nearly focused on enough. Then again, I'm not a big fan of zombie movies, except for Night of the Livin Dead. Theres just something not too scary about half-dead bodies running around with no intelligence. The whole military rapist thing was also something unbelievable to me. Didn't they salvage some porn???

i don't think the point of that was that they were rapists so much as that they had a "vision" for how they were to continue to propagate the human race, and made the moral decision that they could trounce others' free will. and for that reason, jim, the hero, who stands for, you know, respecting people, the importance of love, and so on, kills them.

i think the reason so many people dislike the second half is because they fail to understand it. the movie doesn't play off the zombies so much because that's not really what it's about. it's about rage and hatred, and understanding it. the zombies are simple foils in the movie. the interesting villains are the soldiers.

well, i got to the alternate endings today. the ones where Jim dies just suck. they really don't add much to it, and it makes the ending somehow "still happy" but not as happy as the real ending.

the "radically different" ending that's on it is really cool though. it completely takes all the soldiers out, and they actually end up at the testing facility where the film starts. this ending isn't actually acted. it's just narrated by a guy, with the screen directions being displayed as he reads through it. another guy reads the actors' lines. it's really interesting, though it has a fatal flaw, which the director points out is why they didn't use it. but they go on to the end.

jim actually saves frank's life and ties him up, even though he's all infected. when he finds out his blood type matches frank's, he opts to have his blood switched out with frank's--he takes on frank's infection, and gives him his untainted blood... does it maybe remind you of another old, old story you may have heard in church, or read in matthew, mark, luke, or john?

;) i thought it was a pretty interesting idea for an ending in spite of the holes.

i think jim dying was showing the end of man, although only europes population had been wiped out, not the rest of the world.

the end of man, when... frank lives? i think the message is very clearly of a salvation rather than of a death of humankind.
