    Hey there

I'm looking for a speaker set I could use with my mac pro through FireWave

    FireWave's product page:
    http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/firewave/

    I've looked at several things,
Logitech X5500 (cept, this was discountinued not too long ago)
    Klipsch Pro Media Ultra 5.1
    M-Audio LX4 2.1 + Expansion set (turning it into 5.1)

I've heard really good things about the ProMedia, but also really bad reviews on the net. People are saying it breaks down a lot, but it produces amazing sound.

I really want the set to have some sort of a control centre, like the X5500 and the PMU5.1. The X5500 does not offer that feature.

You're probably best off directly plugging the optical out of the Pro into a 5.1 speaker set like the Z5500.
