I replaced my 5400 seagate with a 7200 hitachi.. I didn't notice such as dramatic increase in performance (i.e. not really worth the bucks I've thrown to make the upgrade.. besides, the Hitachi is MUCH noisier than the Seagate.. however, this is nothing compared to my desktop Dell..
So just for the sake of having the finest system possible, go for it but that will be the element that will make you fell good, not the speed...
