My brother gave me a 5th gen 60gb video ipod a couple years ago, in pristine condition. I really like it, but it would often get messages to restore it, or it would freeze up, clicking noise going on. I would always manage to restore it, but it was getting to be an annoyance. So, I had been to a few websites where they sell hard drives to upgrade, and I did a quick search on ebay, and found a Toshiba MK1011GAH (100gb) for $25, so I went for it. Installed this weekend and all is good with the ipod. I love fixing/upgrading and keeping these older ipods going.

Nice...did the 100gb fit in the original 60gb rear casing?

Perfectly. I just went to the Rapid Repair site and copied/pasted the hard drive model #'s into an ebay search. I knew these hard drives would fit, at least according to the site. I know there are some fit problems with the 30gb model though.
