I want to get a 600mhz ibook but here are some questioins.

My understanding is that mac os 9.1.2 runs better when its not in classic mode within mac os X.
If i get a full pure version of Mac OS 9.1.2 would I be able to remove OS X with the classic and install the pure Mac OS 9.1.2.

My reason is i have a G3 450 mhz running mac os 9.1 which i use for basic some audio editing and recording using logic audio. I want the ibook so i can do some of the work on the road.

So if i remove the Mac OS X that it comes with, will it run correctly if I install the Mac OS 9.1.2.

Thanks for your wisdom

OS 9 will run just fine. I would recommend that you format the hard drive and install OS 9.x or whatever (I prefer HFS+). Also, make sure you have enough RAM. I also use Logic Audio along with Pro Tools and you can never have enough memory for those hogs. Hope this helps:)
