Now that many 27'' iMacs are out there in the wild, it would be nice to know how the default 675MX stacks up against the 680MX. A head to head comparison could be useful as well...

So anyone with the 675MX done any benchmarks yet ?

Im guessing 99% of people that got the top 27" would have upgraded to the 680mx, i know i did and i don't even game on my Mac but i know the resale will be much better with it.

I will direct quote barefeats from the 680MX thread...

Run the Heaven OpenGL Benchmark at 2560x1440 --defaults to that when you launch it on the 27" iMac. Use other default settings as well. Click "Run" and then "Benchmark" - the average FPS will be displayed in a pop-up window after it "flys" through 26 scenes:
http://unigine.com/products/heaven/download/

If you are running Windows, it tests Direct-X speed.

An OpenCL GPU test is LuxMark. (Runs on OS X and Windows.) You can render three different scenes with GPU only, CPU only, or combined CPU/GPU. Please post your results in Ksamples/sec for the Default Sala scene using GPU only:
http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxMark#Download

Bonus: Geeks3D GPUtest - Runs under OS X as well as Windows. Has 3 OpenGL tests. Run FurMark and GiMark. Set at 2560x1440 and default settings. Click "Run benchmark" button and wait for the average to be posted in a pop-up window:

Nice! I guess this is Mac right ? It would be nice if you could also run them in boot camp just for comparison, if you can. I also post the early benchmarks from the 680mx thread as posted by Fenn

Here are some OSX benchmarks from the 680MX. These numbers are very solid and essentially beat out the Windows equivalents with the exception of the transition from DX11 to OGL in the Heaven bench. Again, if people were expecting 3DMarks of 8000 with the 680mx, there appears to be a large amount of growth on both OS's for driver maturation.

Heaven (Native resolution, default settings.)

FPS: 38.7
Scores: 974
Min FPS: 24.4
Max FPS: 95.9

LuxMark (Sala default, GPU only)

Samples/sec 814K
Rays/sec 7840K on 488.5k tris

Geeks 3D GPUTest (native resolution, default options)
FurMark
Score: 1916 points (FPS: 31)

GiMark
Score: 3623 points (FPS: 60)

For comparison as well, here are the numbers from the 2011 HD 6970 under Win7. As you can see, this alone shows that the OpenCL drivers in Win7 for the 680mx are very immature as even the last years iMac beats the performance of this years 680mx.

Heaven (Native resolution, default settings.)

FPS: 26.4
Scores: 664
Min FPS: 15.3
Max FPS: 50.9

LuxMark (Sala default, GPU only)

Samples/sec 492K
Rays/sec 4749K on 488.5k tris

Geeks 3D GPUTest (native resolution, default options)
FurMark
Score: 1161 points (FPS: 19)

GiMark
Score: 2602 points (FPS: 43)

Glad I could help folks. Now everyone enjoy your machines as they start trickling in over the oncoming weeks!

Don't bet on it. In the PC market the 680 is already surpassed.

The GTX680 has been surpassed by the GTX690 for a while, but I think the 680MX still reigns supreme among the mobile chips? Either way, GPUs are constantly being updated ; )

Yep, that's far less difference than estimated by the pure specs.
Don't see an advantage worth 150,-

It would be great to see some real benchmarks to compare to the results in the other threads *hint* *hint*....

Hi, could you please tell me whether you ran the Heaven benchmark under OSX or Windows and what your exact settings were?

Hi, could you please tell me whether you ran the Heaven benchmark under OSX or Windows and what your exact settings were?

All were done with OS X. I won't be trying it out with Windows, sorry.

Here are the settings I had for the benchmarks with Heaven (mostly default):

Render: opengl
Mode: 2560 x 1440 fullscreen
Shaders: medium
Textures: high
Filter: trilinear
Anisotropy: 4x
Occlusion: enabled
Refraction: enabled
Volumetric: enabled
Tessellation: disabled

Thank you! I'll check my settings later, but I think those are actually the same ones I got as well.

Got the same score as above with heaven engine. Marginally worse than 680MX.

It is, which is quite surprising. With 2-4 FPS there is no difference. Did you run the benchmark in Windows as well or maybe even have some numbers from games? And does anybody here have results from the 675 with i5?

Updated: just noticed the first results were with an i5, so no difference there either.

Hey guys! Any owners of iMac with 675mx and Bootcamp installed? Could you please check the clocks of it with GPU-Z and post them here? Thanks.
