    But imagine how much more work it is preventing terrorism since 911?!?!

    They averaged around 4000 flights in the air at any one time, that's just not right! And that's just the commercial aircraft - imagine if you put all the airtraffic on there, private and military?

    I wonder what Europe would look like?

    actually that's a good point... in the UK especially short flights have become hugely popular! for example many people fly from Birmingham to London (95ish miles) or Manchester to London (180ish miles) so the UK alone would look heavily messed up... then take into account the RAF and USAF flights... :eek: :eek: :p

    I thought the hover time on a Harrier was 5 mins...

    Big helicopter?

    And some of those blips are moving bloody fast too... :D

    On flying to LAX from Philly, I was surprised by the number of commerical aircraft I happened to see in the air travelling the same corridor. At least 10 on the way out, and that's just when I was taking the occassional look out the window.

    It's interesting to see how the number of flights grows from east to west as the day goes on. Not surprising, but still fun to see.

    Also, at about UTC 09:00, you can see Memphis start lighting up with FedEx overnight flights out...

    Would be cool to see it 3D and the amount of corridors stacked om top of eachother
