    Picture Thumbs

Not trying to jack the thread, but I've got a newb question myself. So here goes... when I upload pictures at a site like imageshack, I go to the page and select "browse" to find the picture on my PB that I want to load. However, the window that comes up only contains the second two viewing options in the finder window (list, or path-name type view). Is there a way to make it so that this window displays a "preview" or "thumb" of the pictures in the folder (as opposed to just the name). I can't always remember which picture is saved under which name, and it can be a hassle to have two windows open at the same time (finder window displaying preview and safari window to select the pic I want to upload...) Any suggestions?

Tried that, still doesn't work in the context of circumstances I outlined, when the "File Upload" window comes up, pics are still not displayed in preview mode.

    happy now?

There's no thumbnail view in OS X, but you can view by column's in the folder that contains the photos and when you click once on the photo, it should show a thumbnail to the right in the other column. When in the folder that contains the photos, click on the Column View Button in that Finder window and it will show the contents in column view. Then the preview will appear in the column next to the source.

Yes, I'm happy now. BTW...it doesn't pay to be rude! Don't expect much help around here if you do!!!!

ok, thank you. That technique will do fine. Now I've got another question. When I search "Word" in spotlight and it returns my Microsoft Word search result, the application does not start when I click the returned result for some reason. Has anybody else encountered this problem? or am I doing something wrong? Also, is there a way to create a "shortcut" to my Microsoft FOLDER that stay permanently in my dock? I know I can drag the icons of the individual office apps onto the dock, but I'd like to minimize clutter...

You can drag any folder or file you want into the Dock. Files and folders go next to the trash can. They CANNOT be anywhere else. OS X actually won't let you put it anywhere else in the dock.

Weird why Word won't launch. I just tried it on my PowerBook and it worked fine. Hmm....does it launch when you click on the icon in the dock, or in the MS Office folder?

Ok, just tried opening it from Spotlight result and it works now. Don't know why it wasn't working before. I've noticed a few of these "quirks" on my PB for some reason. Just yesterday when I had the USB receiver for my wireless mouse plugged in, the two finger scroll function of my trackpad was not working in Firefox. I opened a Safari window and it worked, but no the Firefox window. And no I had not disabled the trackpad when mouse connected option in system preferences. I unplugged the USB receiver, closed Firefox and opened it again and plugged the receiver back again, and the two finger scroll was back. I'm not sure why this is...

Using the "Weather" Widget in dashboard yesterday, I clicked on a day of the week and a Safari window automatically opened and brought me to a weather page with the forecast. For some reason when I do it right now, it's not working... ???
