I remember reading here that AAC has a bit rate of 1/4 of MP3. After encoding a file with mainly spoken work and a little bit of simple music, I question that HEAVILY.
I encoded at 16Kb which I worked by:
I wanted equivilant of 128KB stereo MP3 in Mono AAC
128 / 2 = 64KB/s
64 / 4 = 16KB/s
It sounds BAD... no popping or anything... just low quality.
