Just got my C2D MBP today.
Went to put in a second 1GB memory module. Got the first two screws out just fine. Got to the third and couldn't get it to turn. I put as much downward pressure on the screw as I dared and tried it again... And again.
It SEEMED like it was turning.
I'm sure you can see where this is going.
And yes, I was using a Phillips 00.
    So, any advice?
I'm going to try to find a suitable tool at work tomorrow that will fit in what remains of the slot in the screw's head.
Sweet fricking laptop otherwise, though.

If you have an Apple shop nearby, they should be able to drill out the screw.

    Well,I finally got it out.
However, my RAM cover is messed up (still goes on and fits OK but the hole that the offending screw went through is completely gouged). I basically just twisted the RAM door around (since it was only held on by one of the end screws) until things were loosened enough to take apart.
I sure hope that the pressure I put on the screw didn't cause any damage.
Everything seems OK, but does anyone know any way in which downward pressure on one of the RAM door screws might cause damage? That's a lot of PSI to be pushing down on a $2,000 computer.
I guess I was just kind of pissed that I'd have to drive to the Apple Store AGAIN (it's 1 1/2 away and I'm very busy) and got a bug up my ass to take care of it myself, NOW...
