    life sure is funny sometimes...

if at age ten i made a list of things i wanted to do with my life, this would certainly have been one of them :)

i got cast in a film that's shooting primary in august, but my character does some weird thing where he gives himself a mohawk, then shaves himself bald. the director wants these scenes in the can this weekend, so last night, we had a party where my friends watched as the stylist gave me a low lying mohawk. the rest is completely shaved. the mohawk comes off this weekend. it's a trip! i had a meeting today with a customer i'm shooting a lawn & garden add for, and he took it rather well. maybe i'll post pics...

ah, yeah, post some pics - that is quite funny acutally.

Have you ever shaved your head before?

I know a couple people who have done it before, and it only works on some....others it looks quite stupid ;)

While on the topic of drastic hair cuts...

I used to have long-hair (past shoulder length), and then shaved it to 1/4 inch...then grew it back again...then shaved it again...

Those big changes can be fun, if a little nerve wracking. I like the bald look, but the upkeep is a bitch for me...Bic'ing my head a couple times a week is a pain.

    definitely post pics,
and damn, I was supposed to audition for a role in a local movie, but it was raining/flooding here and I didnt make it, not that big of a deal though because the movie sounded quite horrid. I belive the directors quote was "Snatch meets Get Shorty meets Weekend at Bernies..."

Hey Trebble, mean haircut, you'd get some respect here in Sarf London with that Barnet believe me:D

I went from "normal" to a no.2 crop last year, mainly cos I'm going bald, but no-one meets my eye on the tube anymore;)

A good crop is an easy cut to keep, get a pair of clippers and buzz it off once a fortnight, the back's a bit awkward, but you get used to it.

That's No. 2 metric! In imperial No. 2 is much bigger. That's why european man like to share their "size" because in cm we are all, well you know! :D :D :D

    PS:

before anyone flames me, this was a crude and disgusting joke. :p

cool. I want one...... for a day.

I want to shave my head, I hate my hear. I have an annoying cow-lick which squanders any chance of styling my hair. It just looks bad. Ugh.

I can't shave my head though because I have a huge lump on the side of my head. I tripped over a dog when i was little, fell down a flight of stairs and hit my head on cement.... :p

So I'm afraid a shaved head would look rather strange on me. Hair sucks.

this is a really random experience. in a good way, i think.

our sketch group did a set tonight, and i did some business man action, worked the 'hawk into the set. got some laughs. made for good conversation afterwards, and some guy from a lit was there to interview us, so it was a nice ice breaker.

after the shoot, i'm supposed to let it grow out, and the stylist from the film is going to maintain a no. 4 crop, which i have to keep through september. i usually clip it two or three times a year and just let it grow out (witness the pic above), but my friends gave me the clippers the stylist used to keep the no. 4 going once this is all said and done. i am having a good deal of fun with this.

    you bic it? really?

    i've always wanted to but:

    1. was afraid of the ugliness of the shape of my head and

    2. was afraid i'd cut it up pretty badly...

i've almost always shaved my head regularly with as short as no clip... usually with a half inch or so.... if anything, it's LESS upkeep

now, shaving other areas gets a little more messy. though, less hairy

I bic'ed it when it was keeping it bald. Keeping it that short makes the growth even more noticeable...and my hair grows fast.

I'm in full summer mode now, so I've got the homemade 1/2 inch buzz cut going.

I'm not even going to go into "other areas"...

    Well, you certainly stand out.
Wow, the b4 and after are so extreme.

    Lawn and garden ad?
    Were there any lawnmowers?

Oh well, I don't really care about my hair but I have a dreadful feeling that a mullet may be plotting secretely against me.

man, i think i shall in classic macrumors fashion award you with a meaningless award. in fact, since i am here, i might as well give you two:

    1) Official User who scares the hell out of, or at least mildly disturbs, Shadowfax and Rower_CPU
    2) Official User who can make the forums feel like a bad porno. really bad. like, zucchini bad.

    now go be productive!

please post yr pics soon. i'd love to see that...

so the mohawk has less than 48 hours to live. i'm saying it now:

    see the mohawk in action:
    iChat AV: balzerhatesyou

as a side note, the animal club (my sketch group) is filming a blue man group sketch this week starring bald me and bald tom. i figure being bic'ed bald and covered in blue make up is also worth a pic, so those will go up when they are ready.
