I'm a big fan of the Baulder's Gate Dark Alliance 1 and 2 games. I guess I really like hack and slash (action) RPGs in general.

Knowing this... what PS2 games would you recommend that are similar to the Baulder's gate games.

not sure if it fits the rpg bill, but "Shadow of the Collosus" is a great game. It has tons of strategy along with hack and slash elements. Best looking game for PS2, not including FF cutscenes but come on, they're basically movie clips.

Do you have any specific things you want, or don't want in your RPG experience?

I don't like the term Action RPG, i like to separate Action and RPG. So since you mentioned Baldur's Gate, it sounds more like you are into the sorta Diablo style games, which aren't all that common on console systems. I'm not really ignoring your desire for an action RPG, but one game that you might like, which I'd probably just call an action game, is God of War.

I like a little more control in an RPG than FF X. It seems too much like a movie.

I think I like the games based more on the D&D stuff. I guess I'm looking for a good dungeon crawl. I like RPG's with realtime hack and slash. I also like collecting stuff that the badies drop.

D&D Heroes on the XBox was another game that I really liked.

The only turn based RPG that i've liked so far has been KOTOR I/II. I realize that was a mix between real time and turn based, but it still was fun.

    So... something along those lines.

Another vote for Champion of Norrath. It's uber-addictive. The first time I played it a friends house I ended up doing a my first crawl for the next six hours.

Try Wonderers of Ys VI. It's coming out on PSP soon, too.

I have both Champions and Baldur's Gate. Though I think Baldur's Gate is better.
Im not sure what I like better.... I used to play Baldur's Gate with my best mate, when I was a wee little lad.... I think I just have fond memories.....

Also, dose anyone know what fate has cast upon Baldur's Gate 3? I thought I heard they canceled it. How could they leave us hanging!
WILL WE EVER FIND OUT WHO THE IS BEHIND ALL OF THE PLOTS!!!!!
