    Photoshop Elements 2

    Greetings CmdrLaForge--

PSE2 won't disappoint unless you need to do color separations for commercial printing. Elements has about 80% of the features of PS. Almost everything left out of Elements, but present in PS, can be achieved one way or the other. See the guru's site (Richard Lynch) about how:

As a hobbyist PSE2 meets all my need for retouching digital and scanned photos. You can scan directly into PSE2 or load digital camera images. I'm not an artist so do not use the drawing/painting capabilities much, and only recently have been toying with a Wacom tablet and some color tinting of old b&w photo scans. If you do much drawing the tablet is nice.

The Elements file browser is powerful and you won't have to manage photo files with Finder. I've used Elements on a PC and on the iMac and both work essentially the same but with a much more pleasant sensation on the iMac. I have no experience with GoLive.

Anytime I entertain buying the real PS program i go look at my Elements books and manuals and realize how little of Elements I actually use and how much more there is to learn, quickly saving $600. There is a lot of source material available for Elements online and in books, and the Adobe forum is among the friendliest and best user forums out there--will remind you of MacRumors.

Elements is both bargain and value in software. If you have specific things to accomplish in Elements ask away and I'll try to answer!

    Hi,

thanks a lot for your feedback. I ordered both for $25 and just wanted to know if its worth the purchase. As I understand you its even worth it if GoLive is crap.

    Cheers

Well, Photoshope Elements 2.0 is brilliant value at $100 so for $25 you have a good deal! I love the program and it does work well on both PC and Mac (same version works with both as well) and can basically fill all your Photoshop needs.
