I have Adobe Illustrator CS and Illustrator 9/10 the problem Im having is when Im done my art work for instance I'll use blue, light blue and red all the colors will come out pink when I print it. Can anyone help me any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you open a new project, do you put it in CMYK or RGB? Your printer can only print out CMYK so sometimes if you put it in RGB, the printer will print out slightly different colors that what appears on your moniter.

My professor has said to never print directly from Illustrator. Either use Indesign or even export as a tiff and open in Photoshop. Dunno if this is a reason why, but it might be.

But I'd try the CMYK thing first.
You may want to check the ink levels too.
And are you working with a color profile?
