Advanced Pixel Shaders vs. Pixel+Vertex Shaders? What is the difference between thesse 2 on halo? All I could notice were the color differences.

not sure specifically for the Mac version of Halo, but in general, Pixel shaders are effects applied to a specific pixel, typically a pixel within a texture on a surface. Vertex shaders are effects applied to either an individual or set number of vertecies (lines or curves), as opposed to an individual or set number of pixels.

vertex shaders are more effective when used on a great number of identical objects (like a flock of birds), and pixel shaders are more often used, in general.

As to "advanced" pixel shaders, it probably just means more complex shaders that require greater graphics processing power. It is possible that "Pixel and Vertex shaders" is just a short way of saying "advanced pixel and vertex shaders" or it could be that the disabling of vertex shaders is necessary to enable the "advanced" pixel shaders.

    Who knows.
