I have an ibook G4 and want to move my iTunes folder to my Lacie external hard drive for obvious reasons. What's not so obvious to me is how to properly do it. Initialliy, I just draggeded my iTunes folder to the Lacie disk. When I open iTunes it had created a new folder. Now I'm confused. I expected iTunes to "ask me where the library went to" and then I could tell it, "the Lacie disk, fool!" Now I feel like the fool. Anyhoo, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Preferences > Advanced > iTunes music folder location ...

Then throw away the folder created in My Music. Easy peasy.

Ok, I tried that. But it didn't seem to work. Here's what I did. I dragged the iTunes folder to my Lacie disk. I changed prefrences to to do what you said. I dleted the iTunes folder in my Home:Music location. I opened iTunes and it just created a new library in my Home:Folder location. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
