right... heres the problem, im at university at the moment, and in our halls we have an ethernet connection, however ive just bought a powerbook and want to make the most of its wirelessness, just wondering if i plug the 'airport express with air tunes' into my ethernet socket will that allow me to acces the net? or do i have to buy a proper airport base station... cheers!

Yes the AX can do what u want. Check with your uni's IT staff first though.

I am a sys admin and I have tools that check for unauthorised AP's on the network and it is a disciplinany offence (and enforced!!) to connect wireless equipment to the network.

Just be sure to let them know that you know howto configure MAC filtering, BSSID and encryption on the wifi traffic.
