Hey all, I'm setting up a wireless network for a friend of mine, got her a 12" powerbook, airport extreme and an express as a wireless bridge. Her husband has a Dell with a wireless B card in it, it doesn't work at all, even when sitting right next to the router. He's skeptical of apple gear, even though they've been unable for 2 years to get wireless set up with a linksys router and access point.

Anyway, what could the causes or solutions be? I figured as long as there is signal in that room (and there is 'cause the powerbook works fine), then it should work, right? I mean, it's the same 802.11g isn't it?

p.s. his card seems to work fine for him at work

Three possible issues:
- have you turned off SSID broadcast, so that the Dell doesn't "see" the network...?
- is the express set to 'G only' in the setup, if so no B-cards will detect the network...
- the Dell, it's B-card and/or network settings is scr*wed up...

...or all of the above... ;)
