Hey everyone, it's my first post here and I'm having a rough time finding information anywhere else on my question.

I have a mac mini that I bought for my sister, and she decided to buy a desktop so she let me have the mac mini. When I bought it for her I didn't opt for the Airport Extreme and Bluetooth add-ons becasue she said she wouldn't need them. However, I do connect to the internet through a wireless connection.

Is there anyway to install an airport extreme card onto a basic mac mini that doesn't already have it?

If so, where would i find out how to do to it and where to get the parts?

I'd really appreciate any help, thanks !

    Well, here's a nice guide. :)

The AirPort Extreme card can be bought at pretty all Apple retailers.

The problem is that my mac mini doesn't have the wireless interface board. The mini I bought for my sis was the cheapest one, and I didn't opt for either Airport or Bluetooth.

    But thanks anyways man.

    Anyone else ??

    Bugger. :(

Well, I think you have three options.

Firstly, you could buy a second WDS-enabled wireless router that will pick up your current network's broadcasts and transfer through ethernet to your mini. This isn't an option if your current router doesn't comply with WDS standards though.

Secondly, you could buy a USB wireless dongle however I've never heard good things about this option. They don't play nicely with OSX.

Thirdly, you could take the mini to Apple and get them to install the card however I'm not sure how much this would cost.
