This is yet another example of bigots like David Duke making Jews out to look like boogeymen. Would "Doctor" David Duke have bothered to write this diatribe if the pornographers in question weren't Jewish?

Look, so what if pornography offends Christian fanatics. It's a "legitimate" business. Only Christian freaks make a big deal about it. It's not illegal by the laws of the land. It helps the economy grow. It might even stop some women from being raped, since those twisted individuals can simply go to the local smut store and whack off to a porno in lieu of an actual sexual violation. There are many good things about pornography that blind Christian hate-mongers just fail to see. This society has waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too many "moral" inhibitions.

I take offense to Reubon Sturman being defamed on David Duke's website. It is just another anti-semitic attack against the character of the Jewish people. I urge all of you not to take David Duke seriously. He is just another fanatical zealot.

Needless to say, such depraved expressions of Jewish culture would not be possible without millions of righteous white Christian customers.

So I guess that argument extends to child pornography and other forms of pornography based on degradation and abuse then?

The argument that pornography helps prevent rape is not based on any form of reality at all.

    BTW, I'm not Christian.

I have to agree with you Blue. However, I don't think that legitimate pornography is necessarily a bad thing. I'd like to know more about this issue. Did this guy not make those statements?

I'm more offended by the idea that anybody "controls" a single industry than by the porn.

Just felt I had to spell it out for the OP before we went much further with the discussion...

Got to admit, my views on pornography are in a constant state of flux balanced between extreme libertarianism and on the other hand, the worldview that much of it portrays and how it can influence other people and their behaviour towards each other.

I do take exception to the statement that it prevents rape, though.

Have no use for it myself. Not when Katie ta Achoo has the Men of MR calendar in the wings. :D

I hear ya... One the one hand I'm all for women (and men) using what they've got to make a buck, but the world of porn is so seedy and ripe for exploitation.

It's both liberating and constraining at the same time. And while I hate to make a decision for anyone about what they do with their body, I don't want the poor and desperate taken advantage of.

I also doubt it prevents rape. If anything it allows those with a fantasy along those lines to explore and push the boundaries until they are compelled to act it out for real. That's just my opinion though.
