    This is interesting - especially with the rumors last year of Apple's interest in buying out Alias....

    I hope they don't decide to forego Apple support....

    They've only increased Apple support. Notice that the newest version of their popular sketch tool is now on OS X too! Maya 6 is a lot more feature rich and optimized specially for the Mac, giving it a 30-50% boost.

    I wouldn't be surprised if Maya going private wasn't a first step to its being acquired by Apple. And there is nothing to say that Apple does not have a interest in the new company considering that its value is insignificant when compared to Apple and they would not have to report it on their SEC filings.

    Interesting that Alias was acquired by a companies in a different industry...Or, at least, their names seem to suggest their membership in a different industry.
