Just curious to see who peoples all time favorites are. Personaly I think my favorite (hard choice) is Jimmy Stewart. He was in Harvey, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, It's a Wonderful Life, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, Flight of the Pheonix, and much more.

I always get a lot of pleasure from his performances... he can also be the biggest ham out there, but I like him.

I will give you the name that first came to my mind when I read the title. Have great admiration for Lucille Ball. Just a little tidbit, she died on my birthday.

I'm with ya wdlove, Lucille Ball is my favorite actress. In fact I just finished reading a biography of her by Stefan Kanfer, Ball of Fire, I'd highly recommend it :)

as far as an actor, Harrison Ford, hands down :D

I would have to agree. I own all the Pink Panther movies (except for Son of...) and they are genius. Did anyone see the HBO movie about his life, with Geoffrey Rush as Sellers? Pretty interesting ruminations about the price of comedic genius.

On a shallower note, I have always loved Julia Roberts. This is based solely on the fact I find her amazingly attractive, mostly because of the smile...I guess that's why she has become such a big star. Nevertheless, I can't help myself...

*EDIT* Upon reflection, Jack Nicholson deserves mention...

Steve Buschemi. If you've seen him in Fargo or Ghost World, you will have to agree with me.

Those are ok but if you want to talk acting skill and versatility then Tom Hanks (many different accents) Bobby Deniro , Leo Decaprio has impressed me especially from Titanic and Catch me if you can Jack Nicholas is just a classic and as of now I woudl say ed norton and brad pitt. I like Depp but because he is so anti american i cant give him my vote

And you can't leave out Anthony Hopkins (slurp), Peter O'toole (now gone), and I think Meryl Streep is great, too.

I feel so young saying this, but I love Ewan McGregor. I think he's an awesome actor, especially in my all-time favorite movie, "Moulin Rouge."

Second to him though, Kevin Spacey.

I cant believe no one has mentioned Bill Murray. Surely the greatest of all time? I cant actually think (might be a bit biased here) of a bad film he has actually been in. I might be corrected however.

I almost cried when he lost out at the Oscars last year :(
