I sometimes like to have a file drop to the bottom of a folder in the finder. In OS 9 I used to just add the underscore _ at the front of the name and it would drop to the bottom. OS 9 alphabetized _ at the end of the alphabet, OS X puts it at the top. I have found some characters that drop by looking at the characters towards the end of the characters pallet in the finder, but they are all ugly and obtrusive. Anybody know of a nice end of alphabetizing character the is as unobtrusive as the underscore _ and that does not look similar to any letter or number so it doesn't get confusing.

in the finder go to edit > special characters then in the left hand selection choose digits. Then in the character window select the number 1 that is in the second to last row. in the related characters box below there is a character that is a straight line with a tiny pyramid at the right of it. Insert that in front of the file to drop in a finder window and you'll see it looks like a long minus sign. You're done, now those files will drop at your merciless whim. :)
