I have just started using Audirvana Plus and it is fantastic. I set it to integrate with iTunes and it works beautifully so far. I use the ipad remote app for iTunes and haven't had any issues with that :)

WinAmp the most popular music player on windows OS, now it's available on Mac OS X, although it's still in beta version,

I like spotify - it's a great way of having your music playlists on all devices that spotify support. It costs as much as paying for 1 CD a month to have it so I find this no extra cost at all. I have it on my mac, ipad and iphone.

If you're looking for a very basic player (the kind I like), there is also:
    - Cog
    - Vox

My favorite of all was something called "QTAmatuer". Unfortunately, it was PowerPC only and died along with Rosetta...
