My 15 powerbook has a hinge that creaks. It is quite annoying, and i did some research and found that it is somewhat of a common issue with the early aluminum powerbooks. Does anyone know if this would be covered by applecare?

I had a 15" Rev. C powerbook that was stolen last week. But before that it had had the creaking hinge as well. I took it to an apple store and the guy immediatly sent it in to Applecare and it was covered. I'd do it now before it eventually makes the hinge come loose.

i had the same problem with my 15" pb. it's probably due to expanding metal parts with all that heat coming out the vents. if try using your laptop on a cooler surface and see if it happens still.

I have a creaking hinge on my PB 12", but it's out of AppleCare. Good thing I'm getting a new MacBook!
