Am I missing something with keyboard prices?

I'm planning on getting an iMac with a wireless keyboard and mouse. That's going to cost me £40 ontop of the iMac it's self. Now this is were I'm confused, the replacement wireless sets cost £80 and the wired set cost £55 (when you buy them normally). So I'm paying £40 more, for £25 more worth of stuff. Is this correct? I though that the iMac had an Airport card by default so it can't go towards that. Are we just being ripped off?

I don't know how this affects the price or anything but the mouse that comes with the imac is a mighty mouse and the wireless mouse that you are "upgrading" to isn't a mighty mouse. That right there would have me stay with the wired set.

I think the £40 "wireless upgrade" option has just remained the same price, even though the gap between the mouse specs has lessened. With the previous iMac model (rev B), you got a normal Apple Pro Mouse (not the Mighty Mouse) as standard. I think the Pro mouse was only about £20ish whereas the Mighty Mouse that is now bundled with the latest Rev Cs costs £35... hence the price difference.

That would make sense, thanks. I was going to get the wireless set up, but I'm now thinking of getting the wireless set on they're own. That will give me an extra set just in case. Only £40 more, but when I'm buying a machine for ~£1000, it's not that bad

I think that you will be very happy with your purchase. Wireless is the way to go. Often discounts are available at time of purchase, good luck.
