iPod touch Amount of stock for iPod touch

I've lived in Thailand until year where there are only "Authorized Resellers" of Apple products, not actually "Apple Stores." Now that I'm in Canada, I'm wondering how much stock Apple Stores would have of the iPods touch. Basically, what are the chances of me walking in on the 28th (assuming that's the date that it's shipped) and picking up an iPod touch? I guessing they don't take reservations (they do in Thailand)? And is it often that they run out and we'll have shortages like with the Wiis etc. here in north america?
