A proper piece of writing at last.

I never realised the full extent of Apple's use of open standards versus MS fight to keep their limiting "standards" to the fore. Maybe a better focus of attention when highlighting the ultimate cul de sac that comes with MS monoploy is the question- do you trust the combined minds of the open source community or the combined minds of the employees of the world's richest man? Maybe MS have made some great contributions to the world, but there are zillions more killer contributions to the world that Apple have embraced without excluding the rest of the world. But Apple have to be careful.

The article said that all iApps are offered but can be discarded. That isnt the case with Safari right now. The small matter of internet preferences resides in there now. Hopefully Apple will change that back some time soon just so we dont get a taste for the MS way. ie However well it works, Safari still isnt the ultimate app so is no better ultimately than MS making an imperfect IE the "only" option.
