This is an interesting article from Fortune magazine written during May of 2001. http://www.fortune.com/indexw.jhtml?channel=artcol.jhtml&doc_id=202114 At that time, Apple was still emerging from its disasterous 4Q00 bloodbath when the G4 Cube flopped and worldwide demand for computers stalled. This is of course before the iPod, the new iMac, the 1GHz G4, and the Apple retail stores. What the article also does is remind readers how fragile Apple's business can be if it makes a wrong move. It does, however, give credit to Apple's seasoned executives. Lastly, the article kept bringing up that market share issue but does make the right point that as a public company, Apple "has no choice but to grow again."
