Or, what am I doing wrong?

Attached is a CoconutBattery jpg of the life of my iBook's battery from around its one year anniversary to date. I purchased the iBook in August of 2004. Truly a wonderful machine.

I know I calibrated the battery when I received the laptop. But, at less than two years old, I would think I would have better battery life now.

My first year of owning the battery I would use the laptop while plugged in and fully charged. Does this decrease the battery life?

So lately, I've been unplugging it when it gets to 100% charge whether I'm using it or not. For instance, if it's at 100% charge when I'm going to sleep, I'll put the iBook to sleep and unplug the charger rather than leave it plugged in all night. Is this a good idea? I think I've read where the battery has a better life when it's in use, even during sleep mode.

More recently, I'll use the iBook until it goes to sleep on its own, which isn't very long unfortunately. If I had to guess, it's much less than two hours, and probably not much more than one hour.

I appreciate any responses. If you have more questions that can help me, feel free to ask.

    thanks

You know you are supposed to calibrate every month right?

Good advice from Apple. The iCal events are very useful.

    I'd follow iGary's suggestion.
