I'm looking for something to get me back to commuting by bus (30-45 min) vs. driving in - is this it? At the very least, sounds like the kind of game where you want to check in each morning to see what's new.

This game would be a good way to fill the 30-45 minute bus ride every day. When you play in the morning, you'll want to check your mail, go to Tom Nook's store to see if there are new items for sale, pull any weeds that have grown overnight, and visit all of the villagers in your town. On your evening ride home, you can go fishing, catch bugs, shake trees, decorate you house, write letters to the villagers... should be plenty to keep you busy every day.

I am getting this for my seven year old brother for Christmas. He plays mario 64 4 hours a day on his DS so I think he could use a change.

I can't wait to get home from work and play it!

just got it today.. i LOVE it..

there is no other game out there that is so relaxing to play.
this game takes ALL your stress away!!!

I paid off my loan from Nook the first day.
i cannt wait to play it tomorrow and see if anyone new moved
into my town. People might say it sucks that there are no NES games in
it... which is true.. but still the game that is so great is still there!!!
and the online part just opens up a whole new world.

If your idea of a good game is a game that you spend hours
and hours on and feel great after you played it.. then this game is for you.
Everyday you play it its a little different which will always make you want
to come back to your little town.

This game does indeed sound very intresting. I haven't bought a DS yet and I was considering getting one for myself for Christmas. Would it be worth it to buy one for this game, I mean there are othergames that intrest me but this would be the first game a buy and only for awhile, limited budget you see.

Bear with me but i'm really out of the loop with the animal crossing thing. I never played the GC version and not sure what it's like. Is it a good diversion from time to time, like could I only devote like 10-20 minutes everyday or ever so often and not have to get too involved? My guess is it's kinda like Harvest moon? I used to love the Gameboy version and used to play that alot.

    Thanks for the help!

*edit* Oh and one more thing I just got out of the whole hardcore gaming thing, I used to spend most of my free time playing games, and now I feel guilty about getting new games or things. I just don't want to get addicted again. I just want to know if its the kind of additincg thing that could suck away the hours and limitng my social contact? Or is it a pick up and play and set down for later kinda thing?

    Thanks again!

yes, there you go, this is harvest moon X100.
this game would be perfect for those 10-20min sit downs..
yet also perfect for a longer sit too.. i played it for about 2 hours+ today.

There are a lot of Great DS games out there.. and when you get more money youll have a hard time picking out another game to buy.. Mario Kart DS is the best mario kart game EVER made.. and it ONLINE!

anyways... stop thinking and start PLAYING!!!
your little town in Animal Crossing is WAITING FOR YOU!!!

I was at EB games today and saw them getting barcoded on the counter. I have one on pre-order and was superexcited they had them a day early. I could be like my American friends :D. So I asked them if I could have mine and the man said no :(. He said that it's released tomorrow in Australia and giving it to me today was unfair on the other people who have to wait.

So he took my money anyway and I went home with nothing but a receipt, wishing I could visit Mr Nook tonight :(.
