I was planning on just upgrading my ram in my MB with a 1GB stick. Is there a problem wiht that?

BC isn't having 1.25GB ram better than 1GB?

In my iMac (intel) i have 1.5 GB of Ram and there never seems to be any type of issue from having unmatched pairs of ram sticks. so i dont know?

The performance boost from matched pairs is really negligible, and 1.25GB of RAM will beat out 2x512MB any day. Plus, if you get a 1GB stick now, you'll have room to upgrade in the future. Go with 1x1GB. I have a single 1GB stick in my Mini right now, and it's happy, I'm sure your MB will be too.

Does the fact that the MB has integrated graphics serve the purpose behind believing matched pairs are "reccommended" or "better" more so than all the other intel line of apple computers w/o integrated graphics? is that the reason MB come with 2x256mb of ram?

I'm pretty sure the MB comes with 2x256MB just because it's cheaper for Apple that way. And no, the integrated graphics shouldn't really matter when it comes to matched pairs of RAM, I'm pretty sure.

I too was debating this with myself... so thanks for the info. :) I'm gonna try and pick up one '1GB' now and one later on too, for my new MacBook. (I'm broke now so baby steps is a lot easier for me.) :D

Go with 1GB stick. Later on if you need more RAM, you can just get another 1GB stick.
No problem at all with mine.
