the "Open VIDEO_TS folder" option in the DVD Player works too. Just remember to hit play button.

    I managed that bit alright.
Now if I wanted to burn it to a dvd I'd use Toast, right?
But what if the file is 7gb and I only have the dvd-r burner that came with my iMac? Is the only way I can burn a copy by getting an external dvd burner in a larger format?

Get either DVD2OneX or Roxio Popcorn to compress the file. Links and other nifty stuff are here.

That's a good way to get banned, better edit that.

I'll take a gander and say you are running Tiger, and pirated Popcorn, and therefore need to get an update, which you cannot do without buying Popcorn.

If you did buy Popcorn. Then download the update.
Once you have run a DVD through Mactheripper there is no copy protection.

Also, you should only be doing this with DVD's you own. These programs are for archival purposes.

It's a blockbuster rental b/c i bought it pre-viewed (cheaper). And the software isn't pirated, but is older, not for Tiger, so that answers that. I just never got aroundt o updating it. Thanks for the help though.
