I didn't want to hijack the other thread so here goes with my dilemma.

I have Comcast broadband internet through a Motorola SB5120 cable modem. Before I bought the XBox 360 I just ran an ethernet cable to the back of my Mac and all was well. Last night I wanted to get the XBox 360 online so I introduced a Linksys 5 Port Ethernet Switch to my little network. Problem is that it seems like I can either get the Mac online *or* the XBox 360, but not both at the same time. Do I need to buy a router  I suppose if I did, I may as well get one that doubles as a cable modem...

    Thanks brother :D

[UPDATE]That was a BREEZE! Picked up a router at lunch and all I had to do was plug it in. The Mac and the XBox 360 were on-line without doing a thing. Wow. Something Microsoft actually worked without a headache :p

Yea Microsoft believe it or not actually makes some superb products but yes, the switch will not run any of ur game units. not the PS2, Xbox or 360 but the router actually pushes the connection out of all the ports and walla, u are set.
