This is from George Mason University's Art and Visual technolgy Recommended System requirement page:

    IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!

As of 9/1/2003, Apple Computer has yet to release the date they will offer the G5 laptop models. Please visit www.apple.com for more information regarding this. As soon as it is possible, AVT and Apple will have the special pricing available.

Apple Computer and AVT have arranged for outstanding pricing on a range of systems! Please open or download the AppleAVT agreement PDF document for more details. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download it here.

At the bottom of the page:

"Apple has not yet announced when it will release laptop models outfitted with the G5 processor and configuration. However, the G5 desktop is available for purchase at this time."

Looks like a typo. But we can all hope.

It's interesting, but probably doesn't mean much.

Odds are this thing was written by someone who doesn't follow the latest Mac news, particularly rumors. Therefore, they probably have no clue that Powerbook G5s are most likely 6 to 12 months away.

    Still, it's interesting.

Why would they know something that no one else knows?

    i don't really expect to see a G5 laptop earlier than the end of spring/summer 2004, so i bet it's a typo

if apple can't deliver on a G5 laptop by a reasonable timetable, maybe it's time for them to offer a dual G4 laptop in the meantime before the appearance of the inevitable G5 laptop....it can buy apple some time

i still have not seen the 1.8 or dual 2 ghz desktops anywhere;)
