I am going to be buying a 20" iMac core duo refurb. Pending I don't get one that was maxed out, or extra mem(this does happen) I will be picking up 2x1GB of some DDR2.

I know to stay away from the value memory. I took a look at crucial and they are way too high for 2x1GB. Macsales was a bit too high as well.

I was looking into some gSkill here at newegg:

Anyone have any luck with it. I don't want to skimp, but getting memory with a CAS less then 5 seems it would be a waste because I don't think the Mac could take advantage of it. I would like to get out for under $200.

I have had excellent luck with Samsung sticks I picked up from eBay for my old g4 ibook. I may look into that.

    Any recommendations? Thanks :)

There is nothing wrong with ValueRAM. On my PC here, I have ValueRAM and it's overclocked and it doesn't have any issues. You could get the EconoRAM if you want to keep under $200. Datamem is highly recommended by many users on this forum :)

I will pass on the DataMem. Lifetime is standard on memory these days, the lack of that is a dealbreaker for me. It seems a tad over priced too.

I have read that Macs are picky toward valueRam. I have never purchased anything Value for my Macs, so I don't know.
