I've just overhauled my website (bonusbuilt.com) and have made some cosmetic changes to my message boards, using phpbb. Oh my the problems this has caused. I'm troubleshooting stupid problems about how Windows deals with buttons--OS settings don't override css. PITA. Anyway, I have a new user on the board who keeps getting dumped at the login screen when he tries to post messages and has some other odd problems. I'm thinking maybe he hasn't got cookies enabled, or this ancient version of AOL doesn't like php. Any ideas?

Well, since PHP is all server-side I doubt it's that.

Does anyone know if older AOL browsers don't handle HTTP POST data, cookies, etc. properly?

As Rower_CPU said, PHP is server-side, so it's not the issue. My guess is that either the old AOL doesn't support cookies, or they aren't being set correctly. There are a number of ways you can set them, and some ways work with some browsers and not others. Try reading this page in the PHP manual: http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.setcookie.php
