    Predictions please ...

Will the United States see other further members of the extended Bush clan in the White House? I hope I do not see too many yes replies ... I hate crying on a Sunday afternoon.

Can you see any of them being elected after how current bush reacted to the whole Hurricane Katrina thing? His approval rating was somewhere around 39% and I don't think people will forget about that.

Also, who would do it? Jenna? Barbara? Jeb Bush jr. who was just arrested for public intoxication?

    I don't see it.
But then again, I am in a microcosm all day, and I don't get that broad a view of political ideas. (I'm at school 9+ hours a day. Pretty much, we're all liberals.)

The concern always reverts back to the gullibility of the electorate. As far as Jeb Jr. is concerned, his uncle was a drunk and he made it.

Want a wild scenario? What if Cheney resigns for health reasons before his term is over and George appoints Jeb as his new VP? Jeb goes into the primaries as the favorite, along with the well known Bush ability to get the "most" out vote counts. Do you feel the chills running down your spine yet?

I think that anti-nepotism laws would apply to something like that. Not very likely the senate would approve that either.

Nah, I'd go out on a limb to say that the moderates in the (relatively, in these days) level-headed US Senate wouldn't stand for the brothers Bush. I think that getting a simple majority for a new VP would be an uphill battle in the Senate if that nominee was Jeb, no matter how many nuclear options are threatened. This is also assuming that every Republican decided to back the party on GW's decision. As disconcerted as many of the more conservative ones are becoming with the current administration, I just don't see that happening. But I also didn't think that CA would be so dumb and reactionary as to elect Arnold, so I may not be the doling out the best betting advice.

Or better yet, Cheney runs in '08 with G.W. Bush as the V.P. (you know, to 'stay the course' and all) and then Cheney dies and W. gets to be president for 2 more years!

On second thought, lets just give G.H.W. Bush another 4 and be done with this clan forever.

Or better yet, let's just have the Dub throw in the towel now and we can be done with the Bush "legacy" forever.

I bet if we all chipped in, bought a GameBoy, and somehow got it into the Oval Office our Dubya problems would be gone!

    :D

You really think someone whose uncle is the POTUS, whose grandfather was the POTUS, and whose father is a governor would make more responsbile decisions about representing their family.

I would be all for that. In fact Bush, Sr. would also take care of this nagging moral minority that is currently plaguing our bills too. He was really good at that back in his day. Even as a liberal, I really wish that we had some more real conservatives still around. It helped keep the balance a little better, you know?

Bush 41 isn't a true conservative. He raised taxes.
