I would love to buy a mac, but have no need for another monitor (I have several) and peripherals.

I made the mistake of buying a new Dell PC with a Core Duo setup recently. Nice 'puter, but one week later out comes the new Core 2 Duo with twice the speed. I was pissed:mad:.

I would like to have a Mac Mini, but don;t want the same thing to happen. Any word?

Like eidorian said, try again in 2007. Twice the speed? No way. I have a C2D iMac at home and a CD iMac at work. Both have 1GB RAM and same specs. NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever.

    Thank you.

Well, that puts things in some better perspective. After finding the other threads asking the same question, even if they put a blazing CPU in, it would be somewhat hamstrung by the slower HD.

I still want a Mac Mini. Very cool machine.

Boot off of FireWire or hack an external SATA and Core 2 has a 5-20% performance advantage over Core Duo.

Can we just sticky this with a big fat NO. I mean come on someone posts one of these threads every day without even looking to see that there are five from the last week saying the same thing.
