I'm thinking about buying the Vizio 32 or 37 inch LCD HDTV before I go back to school. Has anyone had any experience with Vizio Products? I have read good things on CNET (I know, everyone hates CNET, but they review hard and tend to find many negatives with items, which is a service to a buyer), and on various other reviews. Vizio is the TV that Costco has a partnership with, and I went and took a look list night, and was relatively pleased with what I saw.

If you havn't seen them in person, but want to take a look at the specs and tell me what you think, these are the TV's I'm looking at:

I am hoping to get the 37 inch, but we'll see how money is looking at the end of January.

Thanks for your input!

I got a Vizio 37" last February from Costco (Almost a year eh? Price then - $1500.. now? $900... ouch).

I'm quite happy with the Vizio. It's a good, solid LCD HDTV. Not the best certainly, but for the price you get a helluva good TV. The supplied remote is decent but nothing extraordinary. Plenty of good inputs. Still works great; no problems with QA whatsoever.

With dark images the Vizio LCD HDTV does an ok job, but from my reading LCDs in general don't do too well in this area (in comparison to plasmas). I like the fact that the TV has slightly more than 720p resolution - 1366x768, vs 1280x720.

I have a custom-built Windows MCE connected to it (via a VGA connection), as well as a PS2, XBOX and a XBOX 360 (via component). All look pretty good.

Highly recommended.

Thanks, I have been blitzing the Internet for reviews on this product, and have heard mostly very good things. I am a college student, so dropping $900 is a pretty big deal, and I want to make sure I am getting the most for my money. I am very excited for my new purchase, thanks for your testimony to the quality of this product!

I was informed about the Vizio at Costco but ended up buying the new Sharp LC37D42U. I had my eyes set on the Samsung LNS3251D but the Sharp came out the winner. Plus I couldn't resist the $500 discount that was going on, which bumped my choice up to a 37" from 32".

Edit.. You might want to check out http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/. It's a great resource.

Nice site, thanks!

Edit: I have been reading the 13 page thread about the 37" Vizio for 5 minutes, and my eyes already hurt because of the terrible color scheme. OW! But they all have good things to say.

I am also greatful because this thread has many settings I can apply to my television when I purchase it. Thanks again!
