Yes, I have had a problem with Mac.com email addresses, so I desire to create my own STMP server to use in conjunction with my current permanent email (which, unfortunately, does not support STMP at the moment)

Can anyone give me some simple steps to create my own personal STMP server?

I think you mean SMTP, i.e. running your own mail server? If so, I think Qualcomm makes a free mail server at Eudora.com. You might want to look around to see if there is an OSX version SendMail, THE Unix mail server.
